Nursery Art

I'm seeing blue...baby blue!!

So the walls are in the process of being painted. Yay!

Thanks to daddy!

Now it's time to decide on art for the walls. There are so many cute things out there, that it is making it hard for this already indecisive mommy-to-be to pick. I thought maybe if I had some input/help, it might make deciding a little easier.

So far here is what I've come up with. Thanks to Etsy & Pinterest!

And there are also these, which are similar but a little different.

I was thinking I would do 4-6 prints, framed & matted either above the changing table or on another wall. I have other plans for above the crib!

Which one do you like better? The top set or the 2nd set??

Around the house...

So while we've been getting for baby...we have also been trying to get our house in order. Sorry these aren't the best pictures...I will have to retake some with better lighting.

A month or so ago, we got this beautiful TV console which I love! And we finally put out our new rug...which you can barely see at the bottom of the picture. I'll have to take a better picture another day.

With Fall right around the corner, I started looking up fall decor ideas. I found this idea on Pinterest. & who doesn't love candy corn?!

Also put some candy corns on my mantle with a candle in them, next to my little green bird. I have lots more ideas of fall decor just haven't had time to drag all my fall stuff down from the attic...maybe this weekend?

I have also been working on making curtains/drapes for the living room. There will be another panel on the left side once I finish sewing it. The one on the right is not near finish either...sigh. Just not enough hours in the day or week.

School is pretty much consuming all of my time right now. I'm hoping things will slow down soon, very soon.

In other news...we had a Dr's appointment today. Everything looked great, we go back in 2 weeks for the glucose test & blood work.
I can't wait to meet our baby boy! After we get his room ready, of course!

Baby Update

So we've been somewhat busy preparing for baby and our house is slowing growing in the baby department. More & more baby things are starting to pop up around the house, makes it kind of surreal.

Like this little wooden rocking chair...which happens to my hubby's when he was a little boy!

& Max...an original Cabbage Patch doll! :)

One of our guest bedrooms is currently being transformed into the "nursery" - not sure if I like calling it a nursery...

Here is the current state of the room.

We have a paint color picked, a new light fixture, new flooring, & a crib!

Crib from PBK

Flooring

Fabric for bedding

I've also been busy sewing/embroidering a few things for our little man.

I have lots of burp cloths sewn by haven't embroidered them yet.

I've also been busy ordering/buying clothes for him. I am determined to have the best dressed little boy in South Texas. I mean when your momma runs a children's boutique what else would you expect?!

I love smocking!

Precious!

Aww, can't wait to see him in these!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful, relaxing Labor Day weekend. I am sad to see it end. Back to the real world tomorrow...boo!

Friday when I got home, I had some very special visitors - my parents!!! I was so excited they were here for the weekend. It was my dad's first time to visit & see our new house. We didn't have much planned for the weekend except my mom wanted to go to Fermin's & eat real mexican food. Over 10 years ago, when I was in high school we used to frequent Fermin's on a regular basis & lucky for us, it's still around & the cheese enchiladas are the best!! Needless to say, we ate wayyy too much!

Excuse the no make-up or hair fixed

Saturday, we all got dressed & ready to head to Rockport. We stopped & had lunch at the Railroad Seafood Station here in town before heading out. We were on the hunt for a dresser for the baby's room but no such luck. We did find a few antique stores to browse thru. We then headed into Corpus to look at a few more places than to Sam's Club for a few things we needed around the house. For dinner, we decided to have Railroad Seafood Station AGAIN for dinner, ha! But this time it was all about the fried shrimp! They have the most delicious fried shrimp around, family style! And of course, we topped it off with a special treat from DQ! It's what you do when you live in a small town :) (I have more pictures on my phone if they will ever upload, ugh!)

Sunday, I made lunch for us & we pretty much just hung around the house. And Sunday was the day we've been waiting for, for quite some time now...after all it was finally college game day for us AGGIES!!! The Aggies were playing Sunday night so Allen smoked a brisket, mom made her potato salad, I made baked beans & we had lots of dips for the game!! Allen's parents came over, along with his sister & her 2 kids. We had a house full & some delicious food!! And to make things even better...the Aggies BTHO (beat the hell outta) SMU!!

Allen enjoying the Aggie game

My parents left Sunday night since my dad had to drive to Oklahoma for work. It was so nice having them here! Wish they could come more often! I'm sure once B. gets here, they will ;) Mom did help me hang up a few things around the house, get Brady's closet somewhat organized & a few other things done around the house.

A few more things on the wall, thanks to my momma! I'm so undecided about where to hang things. AB did hang the curtain rod for me, now I just have to finish sewing the curtains. I have one panel almost done & another one somewhat started. Lots of projects to do!!

My mom "Mimi" also brought B. this cute little ditty...

a farm stacker from PBK. Isn't it the cutest?!

Also Friday I was 24 weeks/6 months! I will get my 24 week post up tomorrow.

Hope you all had a happy & safe Labor day weekend!
