Fun at Mimi & Papa's

Probably one of my most favorite things of being a SAHM is we can go and do as we please.  These are the type of things I would dream about before becoming a mom.  Being able to pack up and just go...without having to adjust our schedule, worry with work, or places being crowded.

Almost two weeks ago (May 15th), B and I loaded up and headed to my parents for a few days.  Normally when we go it's always for some kind of occasion or just over the weekend.  So it was nice to go with no agenda and just be.

Life has been less than kind to us here recently (just a season we are going through) and sometimes you just need home, your momma, and time to be...still.

And of course, it's always fun for Brady to be at his Mimi & Papa's.  Turned out to be great timing since my brother and his family were going to be there at the same time.  They just had a new baby so it was great to see them & hold my newest nephew!!

Mimi with her boys.

Lots of time was spent climbing up the stairs.  He didn't want to come downstairs, so he just sat up at the top...ha!  Welcome to the toddler days of I'll do it my way ;)

He is obsessed with kitties.  He loved following Max around, feeding him, and enjoying his cat food.  Yes!  All he wants to do is eat cat food & dog food...wears me out!

No agenda...meant sleeping in, doing whatever we pleased, or not doing anything at all.  Time for a pedicure and manicure, lunch at Panera Bread, and just out & about...all.by.myself!  Talk about wonderful!!!  Oh how I wish we lived closer to my parents b/c being able to have a "break" is so good for a momma's soul :) We did get B. a hair-cut while there.  His 2nd one and he did so good, sitting in the chair like a big boy!

Handsome little man!
He's growing up so fast...I love it and hate it all at the same time.  If that makes any sense...I love him being little but love watching him grow.
Papa was ready for a nap & so was B...he sure does loves his Papa!  I mean how can you not love Papa ;)
And time to share delicious Culver's custard with your Mimi...to the very.last.drop.
We stayed for 5 days & gained 5lbs from all the good food we ate!  It was bliss and we were already missing Mimi & Papa by the time we got home.  But daddy sure missed us and was so glad to have his little family back together!

Memorial Day

So we had a fun Memorial day weekend!  I love 3 day weekends...just makes the weekend not seem so rushed.
Anywho, we spent the weekend with cousins!  AB's sister came down for the weekend so B. had 2 older cousins to play and wear himself out with.

There was swinging...

Exploring...

There was RAIN!  Hasn't rained in so long...B was amazed to see it come down!

There was fun in the water...which included an ice cream cone!

There were snuggles.  My favorite!

There were pink boots...

and more pink boots.  I think we must get this boy some rubber boots!  He would stand there and kick them off one by one and then put them back on.

And there was tricyle/tractor pulls...

We also planted the rest of the flower beds, added edging, and mulch.  Which we still need lots more mulch.  Yard work is hard stuff!  We were both sore the next day, ha.

I also got some sewing done and somewhat caught up on orders.  There just isn't enough hours in a day these days...but we thoroughly enjoyed our extra day with daddy!  And we are so thankful for our servicemen who allow us to live our life with such freedom.

And here's what Monday looked like...
Poor baby was so tired, he just went to sleep in the toddler bed out at Nanna & Dandy's house.  He looks like such a big boy here...

16 Months

*oopsie, this was supposed to post last month!  I'm away behind in updating this blog :-/

So I've kind of fallen down on my job of monthly updates...which makes me sad because boy is our little guy changing so much these days!

Here are a few of his stats:
Weight: 20ish lbs
Size 4 diaper
Size 5 shoe
Clothes: 12-18 month
Teeth: 10 I believe
Language: chatty Cathy :)

First time to ride in the "car" grocery kart...he loved it!

Words he can say are: momma, daddy, kitty, meow, dog, Reno, Toto (Coco), cheese, bite, seat, teeth, shoe (choo), no, yep!, mimi, papa, nina, book (bock), ne-ne (truck sound), side (outside), nite night...

He loves "brushing" his teeth and loves to steal the toothpaste out of your bathroom drawer.  He also love to take showers.  Daddy started giving him a shower instead of a bath and he is a fan!

He is pretty much into everything these days...which keeps this momma really busy.  And tired.  But I love him to pieces and LOVE this stage!  He is starting to independent play more and I love watching him play.

He still loves outside and prefers to be "side" at every waking moment.

Brady takes one nap...normally goes down around noon and sleeps until 2ish.  And thankfully, we are still sleeping through the night.  Just wish his wake-up time was a little later.  6am is wayyy too early for this momma!  Thankfully, daddy normally can get him back to sleep for another 30 or 45 minutes.

Eating - he pretty much eats whatever we are eating.  Isn't too fond of meat anymore but loves sausage and steak.  Breakfast is normally your biggest meal and sometimes dinner, depending on how lunch went.  And we have transitioned to full raw cow's milk.  It is yummy!

Brady, you amaze us everyday!  We love watching you grow and learn!  You give us sunshine on cloudy days...we love you to pieces sweet boy!
