Back in the saddle...

Before I started teaching, wayyyy before I had a little one I did some sewing/embroidery on the side.

Now that B. is a little older and I'm itching to "work" to help buy off some things (thanks to Dave) I'm using my God-given talents to get those things done!  In order to do something much bigger, which I can't yet reveal.

So I'm back in the saddle (eh or sewing room), my friends.  Back at what I am passionate about and love doing!

Say hello to my new friend...

And "LIKE" us on Facebook for new designs & updates!  I'm currently doing a give-away to help spread the word.  We also have an Etsy shop where I just added this adorable lil' number.  Love!

What we've been up to...

So lots has happened or gone on since I last blogged.  Meaning blogged about life...

Brady is so busy these days!  Crawling, pulling up, talking (jabbering) up a storm, and just being insanely cute and sweet.  This stage definitely is more physical but I am loving it.  It is so amazing to see the world through your child's eyes.

We had a super busy weekend.  Brady went to his 1st birthday party.  It was a pool party for one of my friends little girl who turned 5.  We were extremely late which I was so embarrassed about but with an 8 month old, life just doesn't go as planned.  But we did make it to the party to drop off a gift and say hi.  Brady was super crabby on the way there and didn't want anyone to hold him.  I noticed on our way home that he has another tooth trying to come through.  Well that would explain some of it...and the fact that he didn't get a good afternoon nap.  After the party, we went over to our friends house for brisket, rice and beans.  Yea for a free meal and one I didn't have to cook.  Ha!  The boys talked football while the girls talked babies :)

Then today we had intentions of going to church this morning but this momma could not get out of bed, hold her eyes open, etc.  And when I finally woke up I was in the worst mood (thanks Satan!) and just so "sick and tired!"  Lately, I've been so tired I can't even think straight.  All I want to do is SLEEP!!  My house is a wreck, laundry needs to be done, and all I can think about is when am I going to get to rest.  Anyone else feel this way??

I needed church today and I needed an attitude adjustment.  Life is definitely been dragging me down lately...more on that in another post.  Maybe.

Today we also had a baby shower for some sweet friends of ours.  Essentially for Brady's BFF, Carter.  I will be watching him once his momma goes back to work - which I'm nervous about because I'll 2 little ones during the day and excited because oh I'll have another baby to love on!  I won't have him every day so that is a plus!  So it's more of a part-time gig.  I hope Brady will be loving his new friend and it will be good interaction for him.

Sadly, I didn't get ONE picture of the birthday party or the shower...boo!  This is just how life is at the moment...fast and no pictures, ha!

Take that back...I did get ONE picture after we left the party.  Brady fell asleep not even 5 minutes after we left.

I have been super busy sewing and ordering new stuff for Honey B.
I just ordered 20 shirts that should be here this week for an a huge order I have.  Talk about overwhelming!  But it allows for some extra money which is a good thing, right?  Here a few things I've been working on...

A lot of spirit shirts!  I love how these turned out.

And this was for a gift for someone.  They requested this verse on a waffle weave blanket.  I thought it turned out so great!

I also took a friend to Houston last week for a doctors appt.  It was a whirlwind trip but a good one.  I hope to blog about that tomorrow...

But in other exciting news - Brady slept last night from 9pm until 5:30am.  Oh sweet sleep!  Actually the night before he did really great too, only waking up once.  I'm hoping he is getting this sleeping through the night thing down because this momma sure could use some sleep ;)

Here chick-a-dee...

Having some fun with my new machine...

We have a wedding this weekend for one of our dear friends and we are planning on giving them a Home Depot gift card as a wedding gift. I normally am not fans of giving gift cards but they are in the process of fixing up (more like completely renovating) their first home together & so we know how much they will appreciate a gift card to help them complete the renovation. But we all know I could not - not get them a little something. So I decided to use my talents & skills to give them something I thought would be fun & unique. Coordinating kitchen towels!

I decided adding ric-rac would be a nice touch, what do you think?! I did another one with a big "R" for their last name but didn't get a picture of it.

There are yo-yo's, fabric yo-yo's also known as my new obsession! These little things are so cute & so much fun! I will be adding lots of these to some new projects I have in the works...

Well...I still lots of packing to do before we hit the road. So tired of being on the go but excited to see The Reagan's tie the knot this weekend! I'll be back Monday with a post of our weekend with lots of photos, I'm sure! This time I won't be forgetting the camera!!

On another note, HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY AUBREY!! Nonnie & Uncle Allen will miss you this weekend but we hope you have a wonderful "under the sea" birthday party!! We love you very much & can't wait to see you at Easter!

Blankies

Rock 'n Roll blanket (flannel & minky)

Monkey, Monkey, Monkey (both sides flannel)

The two blankets I made on Sunday...I think they turned out pretty well considering it was my VERY FIRST time to attempt this particular pattern. I think they are way more cute in person but photos will have to do for now. I am not so good w/ the camera so maybe Allen will get better photos for me soon (without all the shadows). They were actually easy to make & I'm excited to make more! Let me know what you think...

Hey, Cupcake!

A little Gerber onesies I put together in just a few short minutes...isn't it adorable?! Who doesn't love a cupcake topped with PINK fluffy icing?!?!

Two of my favorite hobbies & passions: SEWING & BAKING!
What a sweet life I live!

My inspiration: these cupcakes I made for Madyson's 4th Pink-a-licious Birthday Party!
YUM!!!!

My 1st pillowcase dress!

Today, I completed my first pillowcase dress! Yippee!! I am so proud of myself! I think I might be actually getting good at sewing, woohoo :) I did not use an actual pillowcase (pillowcases just aren't that cute), I found this fabric on clearance for $3/yard. I kind of created my own pattern based on some other patterns I had seen online. For my very first one, I think it turned out pretty good! :) This was also my first very time to use extra wide, double fold, bias tape (gosh, that's a long word!) and I found a blog with awesome instructions & photos, I'm totally a visual learner - I love when I get stuck then find a solution so quickly! Thank goodness for the internet :) For the next one, I hope to add some embellishments along the bottom, like some ric-rac, ribbon, pom poms, or even a sweet ruffle! The possibilities are endless...which is why I love sewing!

Now I just need one of my precious nieces to model for me! :) Back to the sewing machine to complete another project!

Fancy Pants!

Boutique Bottoms are now here! I recently came across this incredibly CUTE patten for Boutique Bottoms created by SewSensible. I bought the patten, printed it and got to work! Here are the 2 pair of bottoms that I have created so far...I am VERY excited about them! And do believe they are adorable, if I do say so myself! ;)

Modeled by Miss Madyson

SewSensible's blog is located to the right of my page...check out the many more designs she has to offer! I will soon begin working on matching tops as well as layered skirts for that special princess in your life! And thanks Cadee Bird for the super cute fabric in which was used to create these bottoms!
