Domestic Diva

Sew what? I decided I wanted to get into sewing and my awesome MIL (mother-in-law) got me a brand new sewing machine that is wonderful & all mine! I just started sewing so I'm learning the basics but I plan to be a pro very soon. I want to be able to sew fun, CUTE stuff for all my nieces, nephews, gifts for friends and for my own babies one day. I'm working on sewing a straight stitch....haha, it's a little more difficult than you think. But practice makes perfect, right? Nancy (my MIL) and Mamu (Allen's grandmother) are avid sewers and I know with their help I'll be a pro in no time.

While I'm sure most of you have seen those oh so cute burp clothes online and at upscale boutiques, that was my first inspiration and project. I do not think mine are near as cute...yet! But we are working that way. I have hopes of making my own burp clothes entirely out of super cute fabric and even crib bedding one day when I get good enough. I'd like to have an online baby/children website one day where I can sell my creations :) One day I hope to get a monogramming machine...because everyone loves a personalized gift!

We have a NEW nephew!

Joe loves his Uncle Alley :)
So peaceful...
Been awhile since I posted anything and what better time than now... We were blessed with a new nephew on June 26th. Joseph "Joe" Homere Wilson was born at 4:18 pm and weighed 7lbs 4oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He is absolutely adorable and so precious! Momma and baby are home and doing well. Uncle Allen (Alley) loves being an uncle and I think getting the itch to have a baby of his own...of course not until he graduates and we get settled. We are so thankful for baby Joe and now excited to meet our new niece due in August. Our family is just growing and growing...being an aunt is such a blessing and I'm so thankful I've been blessed with such healthy, playful, and beautiful nieces and nephews. I could not imagine life without their smiling faces! Hope you enjoy the photos of our new nephew, Joe :)

Come & Knock On Our Door...

Slowly but surely we are unpacking and turning our new place into a "home"...I thought I would post photos of our new place for everyone to enjoy as we get each room done! I'm having so much fun decorating but also realizing how expensive it is to furnish a new place, who knew curtains would cost an arm & leg, haha!! Oh well a little at a time...so far the bathroom is the only room complete. I did a beach kind of theme and used some photos from our amazing honeymoon to display as "art work" but also to save money!! With our tax refund we bought a new dining room table that we LOVE! Next room to tackle our bedroom & dining room. So check back soon for more pics...Hope you enjoy the sneak peek into our home :) Have a wonderful weekend!!

Another Manic Monday

Well it's Monday again and I'm already looking forward to Friday! The weekend just never seems long enough...especially when I have to work on Saturday, boo!! And this weekend involves lots of fun & family, so I'm really ready for it to get here...

Friday, Allen has an interview for a summer internship with Jacobs Carter & Burgess at their San Antonio location!!! We are so excited and relieved in knowing God has opened this door for us. We are very hopeful that Allen will get an offer considering time is closing in very quickly to make a decision about an internship. Allen must have an internship to graduate and we are putting all of our trust in knowing God will put Allen in the right place, at the right time. This would be a great opportunity for Allen considering this is the company he would like to work for upon completing his masters. And their office is in San Antonio!! I truly believe God is working in our lives right now, asking us to fully relay on Him and also to understand His timing is always the perfect timing! So please pray for Allen this week and especially Friday during his interview, we greatly appreicate all of your love and support!!

Saturday, it's Mom's birthday!!!!! We are going home to spend some time with her and enjoy some good cookin' :) Then Sunday we are headed to Belton, Tx for the day to help my good friend, Shanna with a fundraiser she is having. It's going to be a BUSY weekend but a very fun weekend! I'll be sure and post photos of my weekend sometime next week. I hope everyone has a great week and upcoming weekend!!

Nancy's Veggies

I finally got my "crops" planted today! Okay so maybe it's not a crop but I did get a few vegetables planted in hopes of having a plentiful summer of fresh veggies! Today I planted Mountain Pride tomatoes, red bell peppers, and jalapeƱos. Allen wanted jalapeƱos and I thought they would be great to make fresh salsa with...yum! We or should say I (I'm the farmer of the family ;) Allen helps but it's more my idea and "project") still would like to plant cherry tomatoes, yellow crook-necked squash and a variety of fresh herbs. We have a wonderful patio that has just enough sunlight during the day so I'm hoping/praying for lots of veggies during summer. I thought I would share with each of you my first attempt of a "garden" so be sure to check back often for updates! Here are a few pictures of my "crop"- the one big plant on the far right is Allen's White Bird of Paradise.

Reno's New Do

So we are slowly but surely moving into our new apartment. There is still a ton of work that needs to be done at the condo but hopefully this weekend we will be finished. We took Reno to a new groomer (one closer to my work) and while I told them to cut him SHORT...I didn't realize they would cut his hair down to nothing!! Just thought I'd share a picture of Reno with his new hair- at least he's not shedding anymore :)
