He knows my name...

Three months ago during this time, I was anxiously waiting to hear my baby's first cry.  Wondering what he might look like.  I was about to become a mother to the most precious baby boy.

Brady will turn 3 months old, technically at 11:50pm - so in two minutes according to my clock.

Blows my mind that I could love someone so much.  But it also blows my mind that my Creator has entrusted me with this human life.

I think it has taken me all of 3 months to start to grasp exactly what happened that night when we welcomed our sweet boy into this world.  And I couldn't be more thankful or humbled by God's amazing gift.

There is nothing sweeter in this world than a baby, especially your own baby.  What an incredible three months it has been.

I have a maker
he formed my heart,
before even time began
My life was in his hands
He knows my name
He knows my every thought

Fun with Mimi

My mom came to stay with us last week.  She got here Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday.  We love when Mimi is here!  While she was here, she watched Brady for me while I went up to school to turn in some stuff and get a few things out of my desk.

We also spent a day shopping!
Brady passed out at the mall after lots of shopping!

We had lunch at Cheddar's.  Where her and Brady did some talking :)

And she helped me clean out of my closet, which was much needed!  I ended up throwing out 2 huge trash bags full.  Feels great to have a organized closet.
Hangers anyone?

Now that I'm staying home, my goal is to do organization 101 throughout our house.  Time to do away with the clutter and things we don't need/use.  We'll see how well that goes...

One night we had ribs and invited Allen's parents over.  So Brady got to have both grandmothers around that night.

I hate that my mom lives so far from us, just breaks my heart!  So I love when she comes to visit!!  I can only hope and pray that when Brady grows up he will love his Mimi as much as I love her.  And I hope I can be just as a good of a mom to him, as she has been to me.  We love you & miss you Mimi!!  Can't wait for when you get to back to visit!

A bottle & a day trip

Love those chunky little legs!
Last Friday, I went to a embroidery class and Brady stayed home with Daddy.  I wasn't sure how long I would be gone but I knew I'd be longer than 3 hours and I didn't want to leave Daddy or baby stranded without any milk.  So for the very first time, I left milk and a bottle.  This was a monumental for us both.  Ha!  He had never had a bottle before and I had never been away from him longer than 3 hours.  Thankfully, we both survived! :)

Daddy didn't get a picture with his first bottle but I did get one the next day with me giving him his 1st/2nd bottle while on our way to SA.  He did look at me rather perplexed, as if this is mommy's milk but this is not mommy!  Haha, precious!

Saturday, we decided to get out of the house and take a day trip to San Antonio.  It was the perfect opportunity to go see Brady's cousins, his aunt Cadee and uncle Eric.  It was his first trip to their house.  Joe & Ella were very excited that Brady came to visit.

A job of a lifetime

Today I would be returning back to work as a teacher as according to my leave paperwork, but instead I am here at my new job.  Not so much new because I've been doing this job since my life forever changed in the wee hours of the night almost 3 months ago.

Last Wednesday, I turned in my letter of resignation.  There were lots of emotions as I am going to truly miss all the sweet teachers I work with.

Just as I always dreamed of my wedding day, I dreamed of the days I would be able to stay home and raise my kids.  Honestly, I had every intention of going back to finish out the school year...but God had other plans.  And I honestly didn't know just how it would work out money-wise...but God said money isn't everything.

The day after I quit I was doing some quiet time and this was my devotional for the day from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.

"When something in your life or thoughts makes you anxious, come to Me and talk about it.  Bring me your prayer and petition with Thanksgiving, saying: "Thank you Jesus, for this opportunity to trust You more."  Through the lessons of trust that I send to you come wrapped in difficulties, the benefits far outweigh the cost.
Well-developed trust will bring you many blessings, not the least of which is My Peace.  I have promised to keep you in perfect Peace to the extent that you trust in Me.  The world has it backwards, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems.  My peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that is independent of all circumstances.  Though you lose everything else, if you gain My Peace you are rich indeed."

Wow!  When we were trying to make the decision about what was best for our family, there was a point and time when all of a sudden I had such peace about it.  It was as if He was saying to me: stop worrying about all those things that really don't matter anyway like worldly possessions and you can leave without so many things for to be rich isn't how much money you have in the bank.  Then I read this and was blown away.  It was somewhat of the nail in the coffin kind of deal for me.  Sealed the deal.  Moved me to tears.

Once again I've seen Him work in my life in a way that only He can.  He has brought peace where doubt lived.  He has brought joy where I didn't know it could exist.  He has shown his face so often during the process of the decision making.  And I am so humbled by His grace and mercy time after time.

I remember my mom telling me once after I complained about how ugly our car was and why didn't we have a nice, fancy car like other people, "people will never remember the kind of car you drove or had, but what they will remember is that kind of kids you had and that's what is important."  Now I am forever thankful that my parents made sacrifices in order for my mom to be there with us everyday.

I hope I can leave that same kind of legacy for my children.  So here is the start...to my job of a lifetime!

And here is what I get to look forward to each and every morning!

Also, thanks to my incredibly supportive husband who tells me almost daily at what a great mom I am and how he can't imagine anyone else taking care of B.

I AM on very blessed girl.

Tractor Ride

Brady went on his very first tractor ride today.  My father-in-law just got a new tractor and he was out "playing" today on it.  It was the perfect opportunity for a little father/son bonding time.

After we got home from church and all ate lunch, AB loaded up Brady (after I put him in his personalized tractor onesie) and they headed out to the field.

Daddy took video for me so I could see.  And so Brady could see...one day because a) he is too to remember and b) he slept through the entire thing!  Ha!

I told AB I bet he would sleep for hours on a tractor because he loves anything that moves/vibrates.  He might be going to work sooner than later...for nap-time!  Haha!  AB said he even walked right by the motor and Brady didn't even flinch.  If you've never been around or close to a tractor, they are LOUD!

I stayed home and spent some much needed time cleaning the house.  They were gone for a good 2 hours so I got lots done but also just spent some time, hmm sitting doing absolutely nothing.  I didn't even turn on the TV, ha!

Lunch, Play, & Dinner Date

This past Thursday we had a busy day!  A day full of dates.  A lunch date, a play date, and a dinner date!  That's a lot for one little tiny boy!  But the day flew by and it ended in one, sleepy boy at the end of the day.

Daddy had the day off so loaded up and went & had lunch at The Chicken Shack.  It was a first for us.  Chicken tenders, sweet tea, & cornbread...how could you go wrong?

During lunch - Brady loves being in the Mobywrap.

After lunch, Brady and I headed to Grace's house for a little play date.  Okay, I'm thinking really the play date was for mommy & Grace's momma...always refreshing to get to have some girl talk!  Especially when we share the similar experience of being mommies of infants.

Brady & Grace

Grace looking over at Brady in her swing.  Too cute!

Brady was fussy (due to not taking a nap - that boy needs his sleep) so I swaddled him & Robyn got him to sleep in Grace's swing.  Guess that's how Brady rolls during his play-dates, ha!
Grace is so sweet!  She wanted to play with Brady so bad.  We laid them on the play-mat together and she just keep patting B. and smiling at him.  Sweet, sweet girl!

I hope Brady and Grace grow up to be great friends.  Lord knows we'll need them to keep an eye on each other while at Texas A&M.  Is it wrong I just assume that is where my children will go to college?  I mean after all, there is no better place and I hope I raise them to be smart enough to choose only the best! ;)

Then we rushed home to get ready for dinner.  We all then headed out to dinner...with a screaming, crying baby.  I felt so bad for our friends.  Thankfully, he only cried on the way there and once we got to the restaurant, he was fine.  Dinner was wonderful & again it was nice to catch up with good friends & have some adult interaction.

It was a wonderful day & a great way to spend Brady turning 2 months old.  Brady slept for 5 hours straight that night due to all the his dates.  Yay for sleep!

Two Months

Brady you are 2 months old today.  Oh my sweet boy you are growing up so fast.
You wear a size 1 diaper.
You still can wear a few newborn clothes but you mostly wear 0-3 months.
You weigh 11.5 pounds.

You nurse about every 3 hours.  We are working on stretching you to 4 hours.
You are still sleeping in the bassinet in our room, but have started taking naps in your crib.
You have started smiling more & more and recognizing people more.
You coo & giggle at us.
You are such a morning baby, that is when you are the happiest!
Your changing table/pad is your favorite place to be.
You love bath time in your Tuckie Duckie.

I am convinced you are made of sugar because you are so dang sweet!
You love your daddy & he absolutely loves & adores you!
You have recently discovered your hands.  You love sucking on your fists and putting your hands in your mouth.
You blow/make bubbles now with your mouth.

You fight your sleep like no one's business.
You still love to be swaddled - for nighttime & for naps.
You have made 2 road trips to Mimi & Papa's.

You get really fussy when you haven't had good sleep.
You can hold your head up and people always comment on how strong you are.
You love being in the Mobywrap.  I can always put you in it to calm you down.
You still wake up 2 times during the night to nurse.
You sleep with your "sleep sheep" during the night and music on during naps.
You make so many different faces.  Serious ones, perplexed ones, and funny ones.

Yesterday (2/15) you rolled over from your tummy to your back!  Mommy put you in your crib on your tummy and came back in to find you on your back!
You make this momma earn her keep.  But I love every second/minute of it and wouldn't trade it for the world.  You bring so much joy to us everyday.  We love you so much!  And of course think you are the cutest, smartest baby around.

I absolutely love being your momma!  You melt my heart!!
