Weddings & Baseball

We had a full weekend, but fun!  Saturday, a sweet friend of mine got married and I was a bridesmaid and AB the photographer.  So Friday evening we spent our time at rehearsal and Saturday was an all day wedding affair.

But before that I finally was able to get a pedicure!!!  Not only was I looking forward to the "me time" but I had tried 3 different times the week before to get a pedicure and for whatever reason, just didn't happen.  Like I dropped Brady off with a sitter, went & waited, and then had to leave for various reasons.  I can't remember the last time I had a pedicure and boy did I need one!

It was a beautiful ceremony and mass. Eva was an absolute gorgeous bride!!

I hardly took any pictures with my phone, but AB got some on his camera. I was able to snag the one above from our Facebook page.

There was time in between the ceremony and reception so we decided to pick B. up and let him go to the reception.  I was thinking he'd love to have fun and dance, but about an hour in we called my MIL to come up him up.  He hadn't gotten a nap earlier in the day, the music wasn't on yet, and it was too difficult with daddy taking pictures and me running around in heels & a dress.  Brady was excited to be going to a party.  Princess Sofia's party so he thought, ha! ;) Love him!!

I taught with Eva (back when I worked) and so it was fun to see all the teachers I used to work with at the wedding/reception.

And of course, a selfie is always appropriate when your a bridesmaid right?

Actually I took this to send to another friend to show her my new hair.  I got my haircut (finally!) about two weeks ago.  So thankful not to have to wear it in a ponytail every.single.day.  Also, the earrings I'm wearing happen to be the earrings I wore on my wedding day!  Six and half years later, I still love them!

Saturday was a long day, but so fun!  I just love weddings!!!  And wish I could be a bride all over again.  Loved everything about being a bride and my wedding day!

Sunday, we got up and went to church even though I was exhausted from the long day/night before.  After church, the boys took a LONG nap while I rested/watched TV.  After four hours of napping, I had to go wake them up to get ready for a fun evening of baseball and friends.

Our good friends (see Stephanie in pic above) asked us if we wanted to take the boys to the Hooks game.  I was kind of on the fence, mostly because we've only been one other time (a year ago) and left 30 minutes into it because asking a toddler to be seated that long is unrealistic.  But we discussed possibly just sitting in the grass area so the boys could run around and play.  Sunday at church, the blood mobile was there and AB gave blood like usual and as we were leaving church, he said they gave 2 free grass tickets to the Hooks game.  I took that as well, we should definitely go!  I am so glad we did!!!  Brady had a great time, and actually I think we all had a really  fun time!

We ended up meeting up for dinner at five at a place right by the field and then headed to the game around 6pm.  It wasn't crowded (thankfully), but it was HOT!!!!
Brady loved it and was so excited!  He actually thought were going to go watch the Aggies, haha.  Love him!  I mean each stage gets sweeter and sweeter!!

Sitting on the grass was actually better than the seats.  Way more comfortable.  Hard to really see what's going on during the game, but we didn't really care about that anyway! ha!  And there is a ton of things for the kids to do!  There's a huge play ground that is by the grass area, and there's even a pool you can rent out.  How fun!!

We let him get a "treat" while we there and he picked a sno-cone.  That's my boy! :)  He was beyond himself...ran back and yelled to his daddy, "daddy I got a snooow-cone! Woo-hoo!!!"

Even though it was hot, hot, we had the best time.  Was nice to get out and do something different.  Sadly, I didn't get one picture of all of us together or the two little boys together.  But I did capture these sweet moments...

Oh how I love these two!!!  These two boys are my world!

The cowboy rides away...

Last Friday, I got a phone call from a dear college friend.  She had an extra ticket to George Strait's last concert ever on The Cowboy Rides Away tour.

Our church's VBS was starting on Sunday and I still had lots to do before then (like build & paint a ticket booth) so I debated on not going...well that didn't last long because how could I say no to a) a night away b) time with a friend I don't get to see that often and c) a free ticket to George Strait!

I am SO glad I didn't turn down the ticket.  Because it was an amazing night filled with lots of fun!

Not very often does this momma get to "let her hair down" and have some fun.  Being a parent is doesn't offer those opportunities often (or hardly ever) so it was fun to just go and enjoy myself with a dear friend.

I am beyond thankful for an amazing husband who willingly takes on the mom duties whiel I'm away and encourages me to take time for myself.  Knowing I can go and not worry about B is a wonderful thing, but also knowing that my husband nurtures our relationship that way.

Beyond blessed in that department!

Back to the cowboy rides away...

I loaded up around lunchtime Saturday and headed to SA.  It was a madhouse in downtown SA.  People and cars everywhere!  They were expecting the concert to draw 72,000 people.  wow!

Once I finally arrived at the hotel, Shanna greeted me and we laughed because I happen to have the same exact shirt on that she was wearing.  Really random since it's bright green & yellow and says "nothing tips like a cow" with an upside down on it.  Strange but whatever.

We then of course talked and talked while we got ready!  We then walked about a mile (since there was over an hour wait to catch a cab) to get to the Alamodome.  And attempted to take a photo of ourselves...ha!

And my friends it was HOT!  Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert went on before George.  We had so much fun and laughed so much!

Been friends for 11 years and we can still have fun like we did when we first met.  We met our first year at Texas A&M, she lived next to me in the dorm and our friendship means the world to me.

And of course George was awesome!  We had floor seats so we were able to stand and not be crowded by people sitting next to us.  Is that rude?  I don't really listen to country anymore but his songs are sooo good.  I think I'll put some good ol' George on my iPod for in the car.

I just can't help but think this won't be his last concert...but who knows.

Thanks Shanna for a super fun night & thanks hubby for watching the boy and building and painting the ticket booth.  I am blessed with some pretty amazing people in my life.

Sunday, I rushed home to help get the last of the things together for VBS then headed to the church.  I was glad to be home because I really did miss these guys...it's fun getting a break but my heart aches for them while away.

April Updates - Birthday Fun

So I've clearly failed on posting about Christmas and Easter.  I've debated just writing about them anyway for my sake, because let's face it...I probably will forget the details & the whole reason I "blog" is a way to look back on our lives.  So I think I just talked myself into blogging about those holidays, ha!

But for now I'm going to do just a general update about April...

First of April, we celebrated my sweet friend Lacy's birthday!  It was a fun night out with adult conversation & a few games at darts.  Which apparently I am no good at.

The weekend of April 13th, I headed to San Antonio to celebrate my momma's birthday on the Riverwalk.  My sister, aunt, cousin, and myself surprised my mom with a girls trip to SA.  We had a wonderful time!!!

San Antonio traffic...not so fun!

We arrived Saturday, had lunch, then walked the river.  My good friend from college was able to get away for the weekend & join us.  I was so glad to be able to see her.  We don't get to see each near enough now that we have kids and live about 5 hours away from each other.
college friends...love her!
That evening we went to dinner and then headed to Pete's Piano Bar for some sing-a-long fun!

Mother & Daughters
We paid to have them write Happy Birthday to mom.  I wasn't happy that they wrote it below that nonsense...we all know the Aggies now play in a real conference & we really don't care about the Big (Little) 12.  Hmm, have they talked to Johnny Football?! ;)

Love my momma!!!

Mom wanted to check out a church that was on some mission grounds on the southside of SA.  So Sunday we checked out of our hotel and headed to mass.  We attended the mariachi mass.  Which was definitely interesting and they told you lots of history about the church.  It was like a mini field trip :)

We ended up having lunch a local mexican restaurant that was really yummy!  Afterwards, we said our goodbyes and hit the road back home.  I really enjoyed my night away and off my mom duties.  Even though I really did my sweet boy & his daddy...it was nice to be able to take some "me time" and enjoy fun music in the car! :)

And because I am clearly a nerd and have no life while I'm by myself...I took all kinds of "selfies" haha.  No I was really trying to get a picture of my new earrings that I had gotten while at market back in March.  They are now a staple in my wardrobe & I just thought I needed to share w/ the whole world how awesome they were!  Clearly I have nooo life or maybe it's just the little things that make me happen...

And I was happy about wearing my new "Mama Loved" shirt!  We ordered these at market & it's my favorite!  Not to mention the shirt is super comfy!!

Pigs, goats, & cows -oh my! (a play-date)

Last Thursday, we had fun play-date planned with some of our Kindermusik friends.  It is livestock show time around here so we took advantage of taking the kiddos out to show them around.

Brady was all about the animals.  He wasn't scared to pet them or call them.  According to him they were all either "dawg" or "We-no" even though I tried to explain they were neither a dog or Reno.

We met up with our friends and went through all the barns looking at the exhibits.  First up was the pigs.  And oh my how I had forgotten the awful smell of livestock shows...either that or when you are "young" you just don't notice those things!  Because I do not remember it smelling that bad when I showed pigs, hmm almost 11 years ago.

Our first stop:  the pigs!

Next the goats!
Brady really liked the goats.  Kept calling them "we-no, we-no" and reaching into the pen to pet them.  So cute to watch!

Then the rabbits...a sweet mom let all the kids pet her son's bunnies.

 Sweet friends.  O & Brady.

Next up...the ugly birds!  Turkeys & chickens.
 Lots of walking...
And looking...and smells! ;)
We stopped and looked at the lambs, then our last stop were the cows.  By this point, Brady was in melt-down mode and mommy was sweating from chasing him.  He insisted on walking through this exhibit but it was filled with cow manure so he was not the happiest about being held.  I was also probably breaking out into sweats as he "squealed" at the cows, all while me panicking he didn't startle one of them.  I'm sure the exhibitors were thrilled to see us go, ha!

We did manage to get a group photo...and ha what do you know we are the only ones not looking, ha!  This is real life folks...B wanted a snack during the picture and we are missing a shoe!  The other kiddos & moms look great though :)

Brady refused to stay in the stroller.  He wanted to be on the loose, Mr. Independent!  Walked until his little legs just shouldn't anymore!
It turned out to be a beautiful day!  After a much needed nap, we made a trip to the mall for B. some new clothes and jacket.  Thanks to his Mimi!!!

These are the moments/day I live for.  Seeing the world through my child's eyes...there is nothing sweeter!  I'm so thankful I am able to experience and make these kind of memories with B.  I cherish these so much, even if they aren't always easy on this sweaty, nervous-wreck momma! ;)
