So I hadn't blogged regularly like I had hoped I would. Such as life! Father's day weekend was packed full of fun stuff.
Saturday morning, I cleaned up the house (from a bachelorette party the night before) while my in-laws helped AB trim our oaks and cut down another tree. Then we took a glorious 4 hour family nap. Later that evening, we went over to some friends house. The boys loved playing outside! The dads chatted inside, while us girls played & chatted outside while the boys played.
Sunday we went to church, came home and ate lunch. That evening the in-laws came over for dinner. AB grilled steaks, while I grilled shrimp inside on the grill pan. We had baked sweet potatoes and watermelon. Perfect whole30 compliant Father's day meal. We even ate on the fine china in honor of Father's day. Nothing but the best! ;)
AB is the best daddy to B. He is so incredibly patient, loving, and such a great example. He leads and guides our family with integrity and Christian values. He is a hard-worker and always puts us first. I am so thankful for him and so thankful he is the father of B. We love you honey!!
I also have an amazing father! He adores me and adores his grandbabies. He is funny, loving, caring, and will do anything for his family. I can't thank him enough for the sacrifices he has made for us and how he has loved us well. He also has loved my mom in a way that shows us what it means to love. Dad, I love you and am thank God you he picked you to be my dad!!
And my father-in-law, is also an wonderful man who loves us big! He is also willing to help us out, loves B. like no other, and is compassionate and kind. He is also a very hard-worker and I am so thankful he raised AB to the be man he is.
I couldn't be more thankful for these men!! Happy Father's day to them!!!

Books & the Mouse House
In attempts to update more often...here's a weekend update!
We had a busy, but fun weekend.
Friday - we had Preschool Praisers in the morning at church. Afterwards, I wasn't really feeling going home (to do laundry, sweep/mop) so I thought we'd make a trip to the library. I've taken B. to the library once before for story-time, probably a year ago. He wasn't really interested and I wasn't really into forcing a wiggly 18 month old sit through the ordeal.
He is really into reading books so I thought we'd just go and maybe check out a book or two. At least, it would be something different to do. Lately, I've felt like we've had cabin fever. All.day. Every.day.
We went and he loved looking at all the books. He was on the hunt for a "fireman" book.
After the library, it was time for a little afternoon nap. Even though a certain little some one didn't was telling me "no night night!" a few minutes before I snapped this photo. I think we'll frequent the library more often.
Saturday - we had several Easter mini sessions to do and then I had a luncheon fundraiser for a local library. It was our lucky day! It is a really fun event where each table is decorated based on a book and then judged.
My MIL sponsored a table and ended up winning over all best table. She did her table about a trilogy series about dolls. Every thing and doll was made by her or her mother or friends. We also won 2 door prizes.
Sunday- we went to church and Sunday school. Afterwards we headed home to change clothes and then go get a last minute birthday gift since we had a birthday party right after lunch. After many meltdowns due to it being naptime, being hungry, and a two year old not understanding that the present is for the persons' birthday party you are attending...we were off to drumroll....Chuck E. Cheese. (aka mouse house)
Funny thing is earlier in the week, B saw a commercial of the "mouse house" and said, "momma, go there!" I acted as if I didn't hear........
He thought he died and went to heaven. He didn't even want to eat pizza OR cake! Just wanted to play, run around, and drive the car with mouse.
Luckily, he has a daddy who is a great sport at playing games, chasing him, and keeping him happy by letting him ride "the ark" 20 times or so. We made it out of there without a major meltdown and he fell asleep on the way home. We came home and made dinner, cleaned up a little, and got ready for the week.
Was a fun, blessed weekend.

Our weekend
Back to the ol' blogging about life...this may be insanely boring to you but I want to remember these days in years to come so here goes...
Our weekend was nothing exciting, but definitely well lived. Friday was a busy day!
We had music class Friday morning at churhc (which I teach) then rushed into town to meet daddy for lunch. With a few people from his work. It was one of the guys that AB works with birthday and so we celebrated over a little hot wings! B was such a good boy, considering it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. Since I was in town I decided to make a quick Sam's run since our church nursery needed snacks. B and I hit up Sam's then ran by Bed, Bath & Beyond to look for a new trash can.
Which why in the world are they 100 plus dollars????
And of course I decided we better make a Starbucks run while we were only a few minutes from one. This is always a risky ordeal because B normally screams for a drink, when all I want is to enjoy my iced latte. I didn't to take the risk...and the stars aligned as he fell asleep while waiting in the drive-thru line. Only to drive away with the wrong drink...basically there was no caramel or vanilla in my caramel macchiato. I know, a tragedy!
Womp, womp.
I decided I'd take a drive down to Ocean Dr. to sit and sip my disgusting iced coffee and have a little quiet time. All was well.
I was enjoying my time. Just me, the bay, and surprisingly it wasn't crazy windy that day so I was able to roll down the windows and take it all in.
Then the bottom fell out. Story of my life. Let me just say apparently the park is where people come to do drugs and take their cat for a walk. Yep, you read that right. Take a cat for a walk. Almost make the drugs deal not seem so abnormal???
Don't worry, I snapped a picture.
Because I thought to myself...I couldn't make this stuff up even if I tried.
Then I caught myself listening to a Miley Cryus song and actually liked it. Who am I??? During all my people watching, Brady woke up and so I decided we'd just open the sunroof, let in a little sunshine (after days and days of cold & rain) and cruise.
He loved looking at all the "boats and fishes" and of course loved listening to his favorite song "Rock!" aka "Wagon Wheel." What's not to love about that??? After that we headed home & waited for daddy!!!
Saturday:
I decided I wanted to go into town for our local farmers market. So we got up and all headed into town for a little family time. We stopped by the local farmers market for some soap, hummus, salsa, and hair stuff. Totally random stuff, right? Afterwards, we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant for breakfast. It was good, but I'm still regretting just not getting enchiladas for breakfast! ;)
We then went by Target to look for a board game & get B this dog guitar that we've been wanting to get him since before Christmas. It is VERY rare that we ever buy him toys! Between his birthday and Christmas, we just go into toy overload!!!! Purging is always a must and I almost decided against getting the guitar (again) because it I am so over stuff. Of any kind. More about that maybe another day. We didn't find a board game at Target so we ran to Toys R Us to look then came home.
B napped while we caught up on Scandal. We decided to go to eat pizza for dinner. Yum!
Sunday:
We went to church then Sunday school, then went and met some friends for lunch. After lunch, we all came home and took a glorious 3 hour nap! I wasn't even ready to wake up. I love my sleep and these late nights staying up watching movies needs to stop.
I got up and started tidying up the house because B's new and first babysitter was coming over to introduce herself to him. Y'all this is a big deal to a momma!
At least this momma anyway. I can't believe we are at hiring a babysitter stage.
We need a babysitter for Tuesday night and we found the most precious girl who happens to live a few houses down. She's also the reigning beauty queen for our local county livestock show. Ha, yes a real live princess Sophia. Hahaha! She came over and spent about an hour and B finally warmed up to her towards the end of her visit. I think they will be just fine Tuesday night!
So nothing exciting, but definitely a great weekend. I love being able to spend time with my family on the weekends, without having to worry with orders!!!! I am so enjoying just living life. Life is good!

April Updates - Birthday Fun
So I've clearly failed on posting about Christmas and Easter. I've debated just writing about them anyway for my sake, because let's face it...I probably will forget the details & the whole reason I "blog" is a way to look back on our lives. So I think I just talked myself into blogging about those holidays, ha!
But for now I'm going to do just a general update about April...
First of April, we celebrated my sweet friend Lacy's birthday! It was a fun night out with adult conversation & a few games at darts. Which apparently I am no good at.
The weekend of April 13th, I headed to San Antonio to celebrate my momma's birthday on the Riverwalk. My sister, aunt, cousin, and myself surprised my mom with a girls trip to SA. We had a wonderful time!!!
We arrived Saturday, had lunch, then walked the river. My good friend from college was able to get away for the weekend & join us. I was so glad to be able to see her. We don't get to see each near enough now that we have kids and live about 5 hours away from each other.
That evening we went to dinner and then headed to Pete's Piano Bar for some sing-a-long fun!
We paid to have them write Happy Birthday to mom. I wasn't happy that they wrote it below that nonsense...we all know the Aggies now play in a real conference & we really don't care about the Big (Little) 12. Hmm, have they talked to Johnny Football?! ;)
Mom wanted to check out a church that was on some mission grounds on the southside of SA. So Sunday we checked out of our hotel and headed to mass. We attended the mariachi mass. Which was definitely interesting and they told you lots of history about the church. It was like a mini field trip :)
We ended up having lunch a local mexican restaurant that was really yummy! Afterwards, we said our goodbyes and hit the road back home. I really enjoyed my night away and off my mom duties. Even though I really did my sweet boy & his daddy...it was nice to be able to take some "me time" and enjoy fun music in the car! :)
And because I am clearly a nerd and have no life while I'm by myself...I took all kinds of "selfies" haha. No I was really trying to get a picture of my new earrings that I had gotten while at market back in March. They are now a staple in my wardrobe & I just thought I needed to share w/ the whole world how awesome they were! Clearly I have nooo life or maybe it's just the little things that make me happen...
And I was happy about wearing my new "Mama Loved" shirt! We ordered these at market & it's my favorite! Not to mention the shirt is super comfy!!

Weekend & a Halloween Party
Our weekend was busy. I thought it was going to be a low-key one but it was our first weekend home in a while and so we had lots on our to-do list. We have been wanting to put flower beds in around the front of the house. We finally got around to doing it this weekend. Friday we went to a local nursery and picked up plants that we had picked out the day before. Our plans Saturday was to till up the ground and go to our church's pumpkin patch. None of those things happened. The tiller wouldn't start and it was too cold/windy for the babes for a pumpkin patch. Well, I had bible study today and our church has NO more pumpkins!!! I wanted to cry! I didn't even get one picture with Brady in the pumpkins...so sad. And I don't think there are any other patches around that have pumpkins either. I feel like such a bad mom.
We made a trip to Home Depot for more plants and soil. We also stopped for lunch while out and about.
We didn't make it to church yesterday. Honestly, I didn't get out of pajamas except for a quick trip to Wal-Mart. It was just one of those days!
We did get the ground tilled up (thanks to our neighbor letting us borrow his) and AB got a few plants planted. He is hoping to finish planting this evening then we'll need to add mulch and rocks around the edge. Much added curb appeal!
Today was also a busy day for us. We had a Halloween party this morning with some of the moms from Kindermusik. Of course, I waited until last minute to throw B's costume together. I've had the stuff for a few weeks now but lately sewing is the last thing I want to do. Really all I want to do is plop on the couch these days...just being honest. The Halloween party was hosted by "Yoda" or this little cutie, Owen.
But I do think his costume turned out pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. I followed this how-to on how to make it.
We left straight from the party and headed to Bible study. With making a quick stop at Chick-fil-a drive-thru for lunch.
It was a day of going with the flow. I debated not going to the party because of risking a happy boy during bible study. Or because I couldn't find the red feather to complete his costume. Brady normally takes a 2 hour nap in the mornings before bible study and when he doesn't he cries for me. Thankfully, he did just fine today in the nursery. I sat him down and he went right to playing. He also played really well at the Halloween party. Makes me such a proud momma. Amazing how much pride you get from your children from them just simply being them. Makes me think of how my heavenly father loves me, even when I'm in rare-form.
I'm so glad I just went with it today and took Brady to experience life. It was nearly 2:30 before we made it home and of course Brady fell asleep about 20 minutes before we got home. So even though we didn't get "all" our naps in today, I am so thankful for days like today and allowing myself to just relish in this season of life.
And to top things off, our sweet friends welcome their new baby BOY into the world today! I am SO excited for them and can't wait to see them 2 short weeks.
So much to praise Him for!!!

Cutest Peter Pan ever!
We had Peter Pan, Yoda, Superwoman, Little Red Riding Hood, Little Miss Muffet, and a zoo keeper.
Peter Pan of course found the window and "dog!"
And I completely forgot my camera. Thank the Lord for smart phones/cameras.
Brady went straight for all the toys. He found a CAT bulldozer that he loved.
