Daddy day care

Daddy has been working really long hours due to harvest.  Saturday night they finished up grain harvest and so this week, they started field work (plowing essentially).  So I've had really long days and recently nights with our sweet boy.  It was starting to take it's toll on me, him, us...so daddy offered to take the boy for a bit today.

Amazingly, Brady took a 2 hour nap and so did momma.  We eventually got dressed and headed out to meet daddy at "daddy's day care!"  I love it!!!  And I know daddy sure enjoyed his time with B.

Strapped in...ready to go!  I laughed because I told Brady, I haven't even rode in the new tractor, he sure must be special to get to go for a ride.

I just love these two!  Precious!!

I couldn't find his tractor onesie so I went with the next best farmer outfit...ha!  This is the best picture I could get of the little man on the move!

 Our little Aggie!

So what did mommy do??  Went to Sonic and ordered 2 drinks and onion rings and sat in silence!  Hahaha...the little things!

Lately...

We've been under the weather this last week.  First, Brady then me.  Thankfully, it rained stormed Thursday so AB was home Thursday and Friday.  Couldn't have been better timing.  He was able to deal with Brady while I slept, whined, and sneezed every 10 minutes.
This never happens.  Meaning B. just falling asleep but a nap but I guess daddy has that special touch because he fell right to sleep with him on Thursday.  So sweet!!!!

This is what daddy dressed B. in Thursday...

So we've had a pretty low-key week.  Yesterday, we did finally venture out to get a sno-cone, a quick lunch (that we ate in a parking lot, ha!), and a stop at H-E-B for a few things for dinner.  B. and I sat in the car while AB ran in.  I'm telling you, we are interesting people.

Today was the first day, since Wednesday that I felt well enough to go out by myself amongst the living.  Ha!  Brady and I went to the bank, picked up a healthy breakfast, and then went to ride with AB for a bit.
my yummy breakfast - don't judge

 Weeee...tractor ride

Oh how I love that boy!!!

Then I came home and cleaned the kitchen and then decided to dirty it up again.  I had bananas that were over-ripe and I had been wanting to try a few of the banana bread recipes I pinned forever ago.  I decided to go with this one and it did not disappoint!

Before the icing...
 After...

I don't know if I'll ever make regular banana bread ever again!

I'm having to resist from going into the kitchen so I don't eat another piece.

During my sickness, I've spent more time in bed and in front of the TV than I have since I had Brady.  Luckily, there have been some pretty decent great movies on.  Here are a few I've watched:
Country Strong - seemed so predictable, but totally threw me off guard at the end.  AB and I actually kind of liked it.
The Smurfs - fell asleep
Something Borrowed - not bad, kept my attention
And these two classics I watched today...

I tivo'ed Eat Pray Love but have yet to watch it.  And this is what Brady did while I indulged in movie-time...
Poor baby still has a runny nose so his little nose is so chapped and red.

Since tropical storm Debbie is supposedly headed our way, daddy will be working round the clock to finish up grain harvest...so we took him an evening drink and snack.

Brady is so busy and is starting to get into everything.  I know he will be crawling soon, which I'm not looking forward too.  We are also going to have to lower his crib mattress very soon.  I was trying to get his picture before bed-time tonight to send to daddy and this is what I got.  Such a little turkey!

He moves so much, I can't even get a decent picture.  Not to mention I really need a new phone.  Well, that pretty much sums up what's been going on around here...not all that exciting but oh my heart is so full!  Thankful for the little blessings like my sweet baby boys' smile and for the hot shower I'm about to take...gotta love motherhood! ;)

Cotton Harvest 2011

We just finished up cotton harvest! AB was working very long hours so I in order to see him, I'd have to go out to the field. This year cotton harvest started much sooner than it normally does, therefore ended sooner. We had a relative good crop this year considering we've had no rain. I was able to snap a few pictures one evening...

Out my kitchen window...

Summertime around here means crops in the fields. Cotton harvest is early this year so AB is already spending long days & nights in the field. But Saturday night, I looked out my kitchen window & saw this...

the sun setting on the cotton field across the street - beautiful!

I'm glad I went ahead & took photos that evening because tonight around 10, I saw a cotton picker out in the field pickin'!

First Day of School

Today was my first day of school. My first day as a new teacher. My first day as a special ed teacher.

And my husband was so incredibly, sweet & thoughtful - he sent me flowers for my first day! I was so surprised and it was such a sweet surprise! He knew how nervous I was and he definitely made my day!

God keeps reminding me there is where I need to be and to TRUST him! Gosh, who knew trusting could be so difficult?

I was scared to death about my first day. But my one life skills student showed up and oh my heart melted. I will not meet my other kiddos until next week. Which thankfully because I feel so unprepared at this point. I will be working with my life skills student as well as pulling kids daily for resource. I am still very nervous about this year, mostly because it is uncharted area for me. But I am fully believing God has a MUCH bigger plan for me than what I can see.

So I will continue to seek Him first and now the rest of everything else will fall into place.

After school, I headed out to the fields to see my sweet husband! He needed eye drops & of course I wanted to see him so I could tell him all about my day.

While out there I managed to take a few more pictures...
My first day of school outfit :) yes, I wore 4in heels out into the field & on the tractor!
Gettin' ready to go to the next cotton field
BIG ol' bales of COTTON!!!

Hope all you other teachers had a FABULOUS first day back!!!
