Ags WIN the Cotton Bowl!!!!!!!!!!

Friday was a BIG day for us, Aggies!  It was game day for us!  The Cotton Bowl...Aggies vs. OU.

There was just a bit of excitement around here, with a little bit of anxiety (well for me).  AB never doubted we would win.

During the day, we played and prepped for the big game.  We practiced our yells, singing the Aggie War Hymn, and holding our hands up & saying "aaaaaa Gig 'Em Aggies!"

 I can't stand the cuteness...I die!!!
 "aaaaaaa gig 'em Aggies!"

We originally planned to have friends coming to stay with us from out of town, but plans fell through so it ended up just being us at home watching the game.  There was lots of cheering, yelling, kissing and "ahhhhh gig 'em Aggies!" going on.  Aggie tradition is every time we score points, you are to kiss your date or child ;)

I knew I'd be taking the tree down over the weekend so I took the moment to take baby boys' photo in front of it.  In his 12th Man jersey...our lucky token.  The 2 times he didn't wear it, we lost.  So it is a must for game day! :)

We ordered wings and parked ourselves in front of the TV.  Brady included.  We typically don't let him watch TV but this was an exception, ha!  We moved his high chair into the living room and enjoyed the first quarter of the game.  During half-time, B got a bath and then was put to bed.  But as luck would have it...he woke up just as the game was finishing.  He got lots of kisses!!

Tired boy loving on daddy
And in case you didn't watch or know...the Aggies beat OU!!!  WHOOOP!!!

FEELS soooooo GOOD to finally be winning again!!!  I mean honestly, it's a LONG time (before my time at A&M, plus 10 years ago) that we've had a winning season.  We LOVE us some Johnny Football and Coach Sumlin.  I mean we looove Aggie football, win or lose...but it definitely feels amazing to be winning!  Especially winning in the SEC...LOVE it!

Can not wait until football season in the fall!  I know B. can't wait either :)  Until next the fall...B would like to say thanks & gig em!!

Our Weekend & finally Aggie football

We were so excited for this weekend.  It was finally game day for us Aggies.  Thanks to Hurricane Issac, our Thursday game against LA Tech was cancelled last week.  AB was not happy!

So Saturday it was all about Gameday!  Even more exciting is that ESPN's Game-day was held in College Station!!!  ESPN U even televised Midnight Yell.  Is it sad I almost cried because I miss College Station so much.  That place just feels like "home!"

The Aggies didn't win but we sure do have one cute little Aggie!

Sadly, the Aggies did not BTHO the Gators.  Not sure why we can't keep it together during the 2nd half.  I'll just go with the ol' Aggie mantra...we didn't lose, just ran out of time.  Ha!  Even though we really didn't deserve to win after the way we played and all.those.penalties!!!  Either way, I am excited to be in the SEC - we got more TV coverage over the weekend than we have in 10 years!  Love seeing the SEC logo all over everything.

Sunday, we made it to church.  We had plans on taking B. to the nursery for the first time but decided against it since there were several bigger kids.  We ended up having the wiggle room all to ourselves.

Oh how I love him!!
After church, we went into town to get a few things from Target.  We had Freebirds for lunch.  Brady was a fan.  I got chicken nachos so he got to have rice, chicken, and sliced avocado.  Yummy!  Even though he was more interested in socializing and waving at everybody.  As long as mommy or daddy is there, he is a social butterfly - but don't get too close.  ha!  He is definitely in a mommy/daddy clingy phase.  So tomorrow should be interesting when I take him to the church nursery during bible study.

We made a stop at My Favorite Muffin on the way home.  Once we got home, it was nap-time for B. and daddy.  So I indulged in my half a muffin (I was nice enough to save half for AB) and a cup of coffee.  I organized my coupon binder or more like threw away all the old, expired coupons and then went through some old school.  I'm in desparate need of organizing things around here, making a home management binder, and just plain purging of things.  I'm tired of having "stuff" around here.  Hopefully, I'll get some of these things done before too long.

And finally...AB is installing our new microwave today!  We decided to go with stainless steel to match our fridge.  The rest of our appliances are black.  We figured as other appliances go out, we'll replace them with stainless steel as well.  My helper/assistant...

We have a busy week ahead and a fun weekend coming up!

Football & Date Night

Nothing scream Fall like football!

Friday, AB & I went to a high school football game. The Sinton Pirates took on the Rockport Fulton Pirates. We have not been to a high school football game in well probably close to 10 years.
We cheered on AB's ol' alma mater & I got to see some of my kids outside of school, which was fun! Sinton has a fairly good football team this year. But my goodness the kids look so small/young) I guess that means we are getting old! We ended up winning the game fairly easily.

We sat with his aunt & uncle - on the 50 yard line. Allen's cousin is a cheerleader so we got to see her cheer as well. Friday night football is such a big part of Texas & a tradition I remember as a kid. My oldest brother, Casey played high school football & I always had so much fun going to the football games on Friday night.
Can't wait for the day when I can take my kids to Friday Night Lights aka Friday night football.

Go Pirates!

Half-time

Then Saturday, after the Aggies lost - we needed a little pick us up! So we decided to get dressed & head out for a date night. It has been months since we've had a date night. Our last one was before moved in July. So it was so nice to get out & enjoy each other. It seems that since we've moved, all we do is go, go, go. The days and weeks just fly by! I will admit there are times when I miss our slow life together in San Antonio. And I thought I would never be able to say that.

Amazing how God is constantly reminding me of a time that I absolutely hated and then makes me realize it really was not as bad as it seemed. Lately he has is constantly reminding me of where I was and where I am now & wow! Saying he loves me is an under statement - but more on that later.

AB and I headed to downtown Corpus for some seafood. I really love seafood - ok good seafood. We ended up getting 2 awesome appetizers. Some amazing fried, seafood stuffed whole jalapenos & then oysters on the half shell.

We both ordered way too much food and stuffed ourselves silly! Afterward, we took a walk down the pier/jetty then took a drive down Shoreline Drive and looked at all the big, fancy houses.

It was a much needed date night and I am so thankful for date nights & the man God chose for me, Allen B.

Gosh, Aggie football & great friends - I don't know what more a girl could want!

This weekend is the 2009 Southwest Classic - Rivalry Renewed and I am so excited & ready for some Fightin' Texas Aggie football!!!!! I so miss living in College Station & miss the feel of game day in the fall...one day we hope to have season tickets so we won't miss any of the action. I am hopin' & prayin' for a Fightin' Texas Aggie WIN!

Gettin' the field ready...

You can also support us Aggies & watch the game on ESPN2 - kickoff is Saturday at 6:30pm.

I have goosebumps already! I better take some tissue because I'm pretty sure I'll be crying...oh how I love being an Aggie!!! By the way...Aggies never lose, we just run out of time! But don't you worry...that won't be a problem this weekend :)
