That's what I like about Texas

Beware pictures galore...

Maddox's breakfast taco from Soto's...he LOVED it!

The last night they were here, we went all out for dinner - to the Texas stop sign, Dairy Queen! The city came to the country, haha! When you live in Houston, you just don't have the pleasure of eating at Dairy Queen like we do. We eat at Dairy Queen almost every Sunday after church. It's just what you do when you live in a small town.

Madyson had a steak finger basket, one of my personal favorites. Maddox had a chicken sandwich basket. Kara had the nachos salad deluxe - another one of my favorites. And I had a Dude, it was delicious! Was the first time in years (probably a good 10 plus years) that I'd tried one.

And of course, you can't go to DQ without getting ice cream!

Apparently, we were boring to Maddox since he decided he would watch a movie ;) Allen says he doesn't blame him, ha!

I thought we might get kicked out because Madyson & Kara were being so SILLY! Madyson saw this over-flowing trash can & thought it was hysertical. She even said, "look, it looks like an ice cream cone (the shape)!" Oh to be 6 again and to have that kind of imagination.

Here are some more pictures from their time while at Nonnie & Uncle Allen's

Maddox going head first down the slide.

One night I walked in to find this...Maddox on the iPad, Madyson on her DS, & Allen on his phone with Reno & Coco of course. Too cute!

Madyson & her Nonnie - LOVE!
Maddox wouldn't take a picture with me before they left. I can't believe how big this sweet girl has gotten! Hard to believe she will be 7 in a few weeks!

I know it's blurry but Kara sent me this while on their way home. Madyson was crying and already saying how much she missed Nonnie & she wanted to go back to Nonnie's! Just breaks my heart!

Kara sent me this photo the next morning after they went home...Madyson slept in till noon. Guess she was worn out from all the fun at Nonnie's!

Summer Lovin'

Mocha coconut frappuccino - decaf of course

Vanilla cupcake with butter-cream frosting

(FYI: I was not driving, AB was my driver that day)

& a tigers blood sno-cone! I really wanted cream but our sno-cone stand doesn't have cream...looks like I'm on the hunt for a new sno-cone stand!

These are just a few of the things making me a HAPPY girl this summer!

You'll Be Blessed

We have wonderful news to share!
(if you haven't already figured it by the new blog header)

After having our hearts broken with a miscarriage almost 2 years ago & not knowing if we'd ever have a baby/get pregnant...we are so excited to share that we have a precious miracle on the way! & according to our wonderful Dr, he/she is perfect!

Allen & I could not be anymore excited or over-joyed!

Our first ultrasound pic of our sweet angel.

Baby B. is expected to arrive - December 23rd

God most certainly showed us that once we decide to let go & let Him..in his perfect timing, He will not disappoint us.

We can't wait to meet you baby B!!!

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!

Beach Day

Madyson, Maddox's trip to Nonnie's continued...

Saturday, we loaded up & headed to the beach. We took the ferry across to Port A went to a few of the shops I could get me a floppy hat & then got sno-cones! Yum! I discovered Tiger's Blood (coconut + strawberry) with cream is my favorite! It was so good! Madyson & Maddox couldn't believe I'd really drink tigers blood, ha! We then headed to the beach, found a spot & parked for some fun in the sun.

We got front-row parking on the ferry!
Kara couldn't get over all the RV's on the ferry.

Dead crab

Deciding if they should pick up the crab.

It was HOT! & I am not much of a person so I was proud of myself for taking them! Madyson was not leaving without going to the beach.

Summer is here!

So as a teacher, I live for summer! A little over 2 months of doing whatever I want to do. Bliss! Which hopefully means I can get back to blogging regularly because I sure do miss it.

My summer officially started last Friday around 1pm. I left school, headed home to clean like a crazy woman. Some of my favorite little people were coming to stay with me!

Nonnie couldn't be more excited to spend the beginning of summer with Madyson, Maddox, & my sister!

Friday night, we took them to our favorite seafood place for dinner - Railroad Seafood Station. Then we came home & then jumped in the pool.

Saturday morning, we ate traditional Odem breakfast at Soto's. Breakfast tacos! Maddox loves breakfast tacos & after breakfast he said, "momma, I want to move here so I can eat here every morning!" ha! We then headed into Corpus to the Texas State Aquarium.

It was HOT! But we had fun.

Saturday, I made us breakfast & then we loaded up & headed to the BEACH! Madyson loves the beach! I'll do a post of that later...once I get all the photos uploaded.
