Our Weekend

Friday, AB got home from work a little early and I had to deliver some orders.  So B. got to stay and play with daddy.  I've been so tired in the evenings, like can barely hold my eyes open - so my sweet hubby offered to take Brady with him while he ran to his chinese take-out and drinks from Sonic.  Always love a free night off from cooking.  Or in my case totally forgot to put the stuff in the crock-pot for the meal I had planned.  I really wanted to take a nap while they were gone but I also really wanted a hot shower.  ha!  The life of a mom...let me rephrase I wanted a hot shower without feeling rushed.

Saturday, we had a fun day!  One of Brady's best friends had her first birthday party!  It was super humid and poured down rained at the party, which was outside.  Lovely!  But the birthday girl had fun and we loved celebrating Grace's 1st birthday.  I also had a fun morning with a trip to Wal-Mart (which is never a good idea on a Saturday) and a much needed pedicure!!!  In honor of my Aggies, I got maroon toes!  Who I am proud to say did awesome on Saturday beating the Hogs!!  Sorry for all you hog fans!

Brady going for the pink John Deere toy, ha!

Through college, weddings, and now babies...love me some Robyn!  And can't wait to see these two go to A&M together! :)

We also had a little date/movie night.  I can not tell you the last time I sat down to watch a  movie!  We watched Snow White and the Huntsman.  I've been wanting to watch it for some reason (totally not my normal kind of movie) but I really liked it.  A little dark and creepy but intriguing.  And I was so glad there was "dwarfs" ha!

We had plans to go to church and another birthday party...but AB came down with something and spent the day on the bathroom floor.  So I cleaned house with a little bitty under my feet who insisted on eating toilet paper.  Why does everything go in the mouth????  He was a big helper today...more like creating more messes but that's okay when you are this cute!

But I did make a yummy, easy dinner that you have to make!  The only thing different I did was added fresh spinach on top and added garlic powder to the egg mixture.  Definitely pin this and make it for dinner or breakfast.  I'm going to make another tomorrow to take to friends who just had a baby recently.

And just because I can...here are more pics of my adorable sweet boy right after bath time.

We had a great weekend.  Always thankful when I get to spend it with my two favorite boys!

These days...

These days seem to be flying by.  Seems like we are now into a busy season of life and I know with the holidays coming up, it's only going to get worse.  I like being busy but then I don't.  Anyone else feel that way?  We haven't done anything exciting so this post is just for the memory book.  Because these are the days of our lives...haha cheesy much?!

This week we had bible study on Monday.  Brady didn't do so well this time in the nursery.  He ended up going back to sleep around 8am and slept until 9:30 so that threw his morning nap off and he ended up not getting one.  Between the no nap and being in a major mommy phase, it was rough on my little guy.  Look at his pity face after daddy did his hair, ha!  He just really wanted momma.

Someone is also getting tall!  Seems like he gets taller by the day...

Yesterday, I was eating one of my new favorite snacks and B. insisted on having some too!  So I let him have a taste...he kept wanting more and more.  I like hummus okay but picked up white bean hummus this last Sunday and oh my, love!  It's so good!!  Even Brady thinks so...

Speaking of food, we are pretty much done with pureed baby food.  Other than breakfast where he gets pureed fruits in his oatmeal, he is eating off his tray.  Maybe I'll do another post just on his feedings and what he's eating.
Today we had Kindermusik and he was very shy at first.  He clinged to me for the first 20 minutes or so.  He was not letting momma go anywhere.  I think he was afraid I was going to leave him again.  Poor guy!  Once the bubbles started, he was fine.  Afterwards, we went to eat lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant and then to the mall to get a birthday gift.
Today was also a big day because B. officially moved out of his infant seat into a big car seat.  He has been ready for a while but momma wasn't ready.  Takes me a while to get used to change/him growing up.  I know it's sad/pathetic...but I think he likes it.

We are still very much in the "everything goes in the mouth" phase!  I'm pretty sure another tooth is about to pop through.  Anything and everything he can get his little mouth on, he does.

Other than that we've been doing a lot of playing, crawling, talking, and laughing.  I love this stage!  It's physically demanding and tiring but I love watching Brady explore this world and getting so delighted over the little things.  And he is incredibly sweet and cuddly, melts my heart!
He is just the sweetest little thing!
I did make a sensory bottle for him.  We took a trip to Hobby Lobby Tuesday morning and got all the stuff and some fabric of course.  I used a small Fiji water bottle, took the labels off, and just added all kinds of fun stuff.  You have to shake it up to get the full effect.  He is more interested in chewing on the bottle than looking at it, ha.
I've also been up to my neck in shirt orders.  I think I'm just about caught up, well after the 2 shirts I have to do and deliver tomorrow.  After this I think I'll be taking a break...just so hard to say "no!"  Here's a new one I recently did...
Sorry for the random post but I want to remember the not so glamorous days as well.

Nine Months

My sweet Brady, you turned NINE months on Sunday!  Just when I think you can't anymore adorable or fun - you prove me wrong!

Here is what you are up to these days...

Weight - still at 17lbs
Height - haven't measured you but it seems you get longer by the day
Size 3 diaper
Size 4 shoe
You wear mostly 9M and 9-12M clothes, and still some 6-9M
You can say "dada", "nana" (which we are pretty sure is mama), "bah-bah", and "hey".  You will often wave and say "hey" - cutest thing ever!
You still nurse several times a day and you are eating mostly all table foods with some baby food in between, if I can get you eat it.  Breakfast is still your favorite.  A typical day of food is oatmeal with bananas or other fruit for breakfast or a pancake on Saturday mornings.  You love pancakes!  For lunch, a squeeze pouch of food or you will eat whatever I'm eating/fix.  Same for dinner.  Like for lunch today you had cut up chicken and potatoes and for dinner you had cut up chicken, butternut squash puree, and an apple in your little silicone feeder with a few rice melts.  You prefer to feed yourself!  You are Mr. Independent!!  If we are eating, you insist on eating!  We introduced you to fake baby Cheetos (organic ones of course) on the way to College Station last Friday and I'm already regretting it.  But you love them!  You also love puffs, yogurt melts, and drinking water.  I try to limit your water intake and you have had apple/prune juice mixed in to help keep you regular - just whenever it is needed.  Honestly, you aren't the best eater.  You are like a bird, you just pick.  Could take it or leave it...

You have 5 teeth and more on the way!  EVERYTHING goes in your mouth...ahhhh!!  I'll be glad when this phase is over.  I spend most of my day seeing what's in your mouth.  Yesterday you had a WHOLE cricket in there!  I about died!!!
You are so active!  You are busy, busy from the moment you wake up until the minute you go to sleep.  You have become a very fast crawler.  You keep us on our toes!  You love to get into the dog food, the dog bowl, all the cabinets, and recently you've discovered the toilet.  Yuck!!!  And I do believe you are going to be a climber :-/ you already want to climb.  I'm also sure you will be walking before you're one.  You have been pulling up onto things for a good while now but just recently you have started to stand for a few seconds on your own and "cruise" along from one piece of furniture to the another.  Daddy said today you pulled up on one end of the couch and walked to the other end to where Coco was laying.  Wow!  Slow down buddy!!

You are definitely an explorer.  I love watching your little mind work.  I often think of what you will grow up to be.  Whatever it may be, your dad and I will be so proud of you!

You are very vocal and social.  You love to wave and try to get people's attention when we are out and about.
You also love to play!  Your favorite toys are a wooden spatula, your tambourine, and anything little thing that fits in your hand or mouth.  You also love the remote controls!  You still love bath time!

You still aren't sleeping through the night.  I've just come to the fact that you will sleep through the night, when you are ready.  You go to sleep around 8:30 and then wake up between 1 and 2 to nurse.  You aren't the best sleeper but I know this too shall pass and I'll miss rocking you in the wee hours of the night.  You normally wake up between 7:15 and 8.  You normally take a morning nap around 9:30 and sleep for about an hour and half.  You also take an another nap that you normally fight!  You go down just after lunch so around 1 and normally cry/play in your crib into you give in.  You sleep another hour and half, give or take.  You always love to cuddle when you first wake up and I love it.

You are incredily precious!  Yes of course we think that because we are your parents but doesn't matter where we go, people always comment on how beautiful you are, how blue your eyes are, or how adorable you are.  Makes this momma so proud!

You have the sweetest little personality and love to give hugs!  You must get that from you daddy :)  This is such a fun age!  Your little personality is really starting to show and I love it!  I am just in awe of you each day and in awe that God me such a special baby boy.  You are our world!  We thank God everyday for your precious, little life and spirit.  I pray you will go big things for God's glory!  Brady, we love you to the moon and back!  Thanks for giving us the greatest job on earth!

(I hope to get his 9 month photos done this week, I'll update this once I get them done)

Someone learned to CLAP...

We've been teaching how to clap for a few weeks now.  Just off and on when I think about it.  Well during breakfast this morning, he just started clapping away!  Made my heart explode!  He makes me so proud!  He also makes that "garrrr" sound all the time.  Not sure exactly what it is but one day after he came home from riding the tractor with daddy, he was making it and has ever since.  So maybe it's the sound of the tractor?  He is always trying to mimic any sound that we make.  I think once he starts talking, he won't stop...just like momma! ;)

Our Weekend: Friends & Aggieland

We had a WONDERFUL weekend!!!  I did not want it to come to an end....

Friday we headed north to spend the weekend with some great friends.  We left Friday around lunch time.  Brady did great on the way up.  We were supposed to be surprising my friend but she already knew we were coming, ha!  That's okay it was still great to see them!

Saturday the boys watched football while us girls attended the baby shower.  Which was one of the main reasons we went.  After the shower, we grabbed something to eat and then watched the little bit of what was left of the Aggie game.  Finally, a fightin' Texas Aggie win!!!  We grilled out and just had a great time talking and hanging out.

 Cutest little Aggies!!
Rylie and Brady had the best time playing.  She is going to be such a great BIG sister come November.

 Playing, playing

Sadly, I didn't get ONE picture of me and Brooke :( guess we were too busy talking and chasing after a 3yr old and 9M old.

Sunday we ate breakfast than got packed up and ready to head to my favorite place on earth - Aggieland.  Just feels like home there!  Miss that place so incredibly much.  It was extra special this time because it would be B's first trip there.  We drove around checking out all the new restaurants and development.  Then settled for lunch at one of our favorite hamburger places, Koppe Bridge.  It was so hard to pick where we would eat, we wanted to have all of our old favorites.  Brady got his first kids meal there.  ha!  Okay, he is eating more and more table food and I knew a hamburger wasn't an option so I got a kids chicken tenders basket - which he loved by the way!  I can barely get him to eat baby food anymore :( makes me so sad!

After we ate, we went to the campus to take B. around and give him a tour.  We also stopped at the bookstore and got some new Aggie gear.  B. got a new jersey, this little SEC football, and a few things for Christmas.  Daddy got a new shirt as well :)  I was content just being "home."  Here we are in the "living room of campus" - the flagroom in the Memorial Student Center (MSC).  Felt strange taking photos & pushing a stroller around while all the students were studying.  One student stopped to play the piano - love!

Can you tell someone is in "mommy phase?!"  Love my sweet baby boy who happened to turn NINE months old on this day (Sunday).

 Kyle Field
Putting his 1st penny on "Sully" - tradition at A&M is when you need good luck on a test, you put a penny on Sully or Sul Ross to bring you good luck.  There were times daddy wanted to leave his debit card, ha!
Sitting on the bench under the Century Tree.  Rumor is if you walk under w/ said boy then you will get married.  This is a really popular place where Aggies pop the question.
Sunday was a big day!  Brady made his first trip to Texas A&M, he turned NINE months old, and his best friend Carter was born.  I'd say it was a pretty good day!  This afternoon we went up to the hospital to meet baby Carter and then went to Texas Roadhouse with the in-laws.  They kept Brady preoccupied in the car while AB and I went in to meet the new baby.  So hard to believe just *short* 9 months ago, Brady was that little and had just been born.  Times goes by SO quick!

Here was me and my sweet boy tonight!  I could just eat him up!!  I hope to get his 9 month post up tomorrow.
