Yesterday, Brady turned SEVEN months old! And it was either straight denial or I was in la-la land because it totally slipped my mind. I realized it today and felt as big as a crumb ;)
You weigh between 16.5lbs or 17lbs (I'll weigh you tomorrow).
You wear 6-9m clothes.
You wear a size 3 diaper.
You are still nursing every 3-4 hours. I have started feeding you baby purees 2-3 times a day, mixed with rice cereal or oatmeal. So far you've had carrots, butternut squash, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, mango, cantaloupe, and pumpkin. You love carrots, mango, and pumpkin. Some days you eat better than others.
You have 2 teeth on the bottom and 2 teeth coming through on the top. They have already broken the gums so I'm thinking in the next few days, we'll be seeing 4 teeth.
You are one BUSY little boy! You are 100% mobile now. You do more army crawling than regular crawling but you definitely can get anywhere you want and fast. I spend the majority of my day "re-directing" you. You love to crawl to the trash can, vacuum or broom if it's out, and to really anything that is considered "off limits!" You are definitely keeping this momma busy! When you aren't on the floor, you other favorite place to be is in the "johnny jump-up." You just squeal with delight and laugh so much when in that thing.
You also love to stand, pull up on things. Makes me nervous that you will be walking soon...
Because of you pulling up on things (i.e. the side of your crib), a few nights ago we had to lower your crib mattress. Which made mommy so sad! You are growing up way too fast!
You also have no fear. So far you haven't met a person or thing that you are afraid of. You love dogs and you love people. You love going to ride the tractor with daddy.
We are amazed at how "intrigued" you are. You don't miss a thing! You notice every little detail and if something changes you notice.
For instance, we bought you a Taggie blanket. I kept noticing you always grabbing for the tags on your toys. I handed you the Tag blanket and you thumbed through a few tabs and stopped at the actual tab. Mimi and I just laughed.
You love music and love to sing. Today when I walked into your room, there was music on you started "singing/jabbering" and when we walked out, you stopped. I got so tickled. When you are awake in the car, you normally hum/sing.
I tried getting your normal crib pictures but you are way too busy for that, ha!
Speaking of the car...you've gotten so much better!! You hardly ever cry and if you do it's because you are hungry/tired. Mommy even took you for a road-trip by herself...all the way to Houston and you did exceptionally well. But you still love daddy's truck better than mommy's for some reason.
I'd love to say you are a sleeping through the night...but that would be a lie. You typically wake up at least 2 times a night, sometimes more. But you have gotten so much better at napping and you rarely ever fight nap-time, which is wonderful! You are taking 2 naps a day now and fairly long naps (sometimes 3 hours). Which I'm loving! You also love to take a nap in mommy & daddy's bed.
You still love bath-time.
While this stage requires more physical work, I love watching you grow and explore. I love to watch you when you don't know I'm watching. Sometimes you will just study something for a good while. It is so neat to see the way you look at things in this big world. Or the things you notice. Just amazes me!
You are such a delight! Everyone always comments on how good you are. You have the sweetest spirit and I pray everyday that you will stay that way. You hardly ever meet a stranger. We couldn't ask for a more precious boy! We love you more and more each day and you are world. Many times at night, AB and I will say to each other "gosh I love that boy!" We are so thankful that God picked us to be your parents!
Now only if you'd stop growing so quickly... :) I can't believe it's been 7 months since we welcomed you into this world! We love you sweet boy!!!

Brady's Nursery
Only about 7 months late but I finally put the finishing touches on Brady's room. I still need to hang his curtain (that I still need to make) but for the most part it is complete and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
It is by far my most favorite room in the house. When I found at I was pregnant, I knew I didn't want a themed room and I knew I wanted something calming/serene. I found the inspiration for his room here. I wasn't completely in love with the bedding but I did love the fabrics and I had told myself years ago - when I had a baby I'd make his/her bedding. Which is why I love Carousel Designs so much because they give you the option of buying the fabrics so you can make/customize your bedding.
I knew I didn't want a matching crib, dresser, etc. I went with a non-traditional changing table/dresser. I loved that his dresser could one day double as a buffet or another piece in our house. It is an old buffet that we had it custom painted and I loved the way it turned out!
We originally were going to do the rain gutter book shelves but while at Home Depot decided to go with wood ones instead. AB used 2 pieces of trim, that were 8ft long and he cut half, screwed the smaller trim to the front, sanded then painted them. We used the same color spray paint on those as we did the 2 little shelves on the opposite wall. The wreath I made while on bed rest and it hung on the door at the hospital.
Some of our favorite books - Goodnight Aggieland, I Love You Because You Are You, I Ruff You, and of course all the Sandra Boynton board books! I was actually surprised how many books the shelves were able to hold.
We've had these 2 shelves for years and I have never hung them. They were a dark brown, we spray painted them and then lightly sanded the edges for a distressed look. Love Brady's coming home gown hanging in his room and some of his first shoes.
On top of his dresser/changing table. I love this lamp, especially when turned on at night! My mom got it at TJMaxx or Marshall's, can't remember which one.
We have had music in Brady's room since we brought him home from the hospital. My parents got me this radio/iPod/CD player a few years ago for my birthday and it has worked perfect in his room. I highly recommend a radio/CD player of some kind in a nursery and one with a remote! My mom got the shadow box at HomeGoods. I made the burlap "B" board, it's a cork/magnet board.
My MIL and I made the crib bedding. Turned out perfect!! I also made the pendent banner. The frame was a steal from an antique store, we added the chicken wire and banner.
Every aspect of his nursery has special meaning. Which might be why I love it so much. Every thing I put in there was either a special gift or meaningful. Like the rocking chair, was given to me from my mom. That was the rocking chair she nursed me in. She had it recovered to match the bedding. And lately I've been spending lots of time in that chair during the wee hours of the night, realizing how incredibly blessed we are.
Thanks for stopping by & taking a tour of B's room!

I love the new photos that flank the window. Those were one of the first things I bought. You can find them on Etsy. We have the fox and elephant from the Royal Menagerie collection. I still love these!

Daddy day care
Daddy has been working really long hours due to harvest. Saturday night they finished up grain harvest and so this week, they started field work (plowing essentially). So I've had really long days and recently nights with our sweet boy. It was starting to take it's toll on me, him, us...so daddy offered to take the boy for a bit today.
Amazingly, Brady took a 2 hour nap and so did momma. We eventually got dressed and headed out to meet daddy at "daddy's day care!" I love it!!! And I know daddy sure enjoyed his time with B.
Strapped in...ready to go! I laughed because I told Brady, I haven't even rode in the new tractor, he sure must be special to get to go for a ride.
I just love these two! Precious!!
I couldn't find his tractor onesie so I went with the next best farmer outfit...ha! This is the best picture I could get of the little man on the move!
So what did mommy do?? Went to Sonic and ordered 2 drinks and onion rings and sat in silence! Hahaha...the little things!

Grand old Flag...July 4th
You're a grand old flag, you're high flying flag and forever in peace may you wave! I had that song in my head all day on the 4th...
We celebrated the fourth of July at AB's aunt and uncle's house, which is out on farm headquarters. AB spent the day harvesting, while Brady and I spent the day at home in the A/C. It has been so hot here!!! But actually that evening it was pretty nice outside. Not too humid and a nice breeze.
We attempted to get a picture of Brady in front of the flag...a lot easier said, than done. Ha!
That day I decided to throw together/make a 4th of July outfit for B. Our little firecracker!
I took an old quilt that we laid on the grass so Brady could be free to roam around. Made it a little hard for us to eat but worked out great for him. There was also kids outside playing soccer which he loved watching.
We had fajitas, rice, beans and lots of yummy desserts! We left shortly after the sun went down. The mosquitoes were in full force by then and fireworks and babies just don't mix. But we did have a great time celebrating this wonderful country we live in. We are so blessed to live in place where we have so many freedoms, especially the freedom to worship! Our 4th was pretty laid back and relaxing, I hope yours was too!
